Assignment #6
Create a device that represents a gesture/expression/saying and represent it:
I am still compelled to explore the possibility of lingerie so I have been exploring possibilities with that limitation. The assignment specifically has allowed me to step back and re-evaluate my direction as a whole which has been vastly rewarding. I am uncertain where this will go, but the opportunity has opened many doors.
So the expressions I have thought of are:
" Cuts like a knife" - For this project I envision a bra made of double-edged razor blades. Though non-functional the statement is profound.
" Eat your Heart out" - This idea I believe has merit and I will be attempting to create a lingerie set with this expression in mind. My first idea, which I feel is strongest is to use tortillas and spaghetti. Though during the material aquisition stage I might find that licorice and fruit roll-ups is a far better option. In the end what happened was the tortillas became my lunch, and the fruit roll-ups my edible lingerie.
