Assignment # 5
This project was a furthering of the safety concept began in last week's assignment. I have been interested in aquatic safety and the exploration of that notion for some time, this is a brassier that negotiates that idea. I found the line bobbers in the fishing section and I was impressed by both their color and their functionality. Although this isn't so much a safety device for people it certainly is a safety device for your fine french lingerie.
Enter the Bra-Br
The concept is that when you are at the beach, or in the pool, swimming without a suit, the pressures of the environment can cause you to lose your brassier. The concept here is that it will float.
Five bobbers circle the brassier creating both a safety device (NOT RECOMMENDED AS A LIFE PRESERVER) and a stylish accessory. There is an obvious concern with Nautical Safety with this piece and that is evident. You might notice that this particular brassier is quite similar to the one I used in the last assignment and that is because Women's lingerie is expensive and I have yet to find a truely reliable source for my foundations.
This idea brings alive the possibility that perhaps these "Bobs" could be incorporated into a bikini swimsuit which may reveal itself as the final prototype.
