Advanced Media Studio Services

The Spring 2008 cut-off dates are as follows:

This page refers to the following AMS services:

• Wide-Format Archival Print Service
• Laser Service
• Rapid Prototyping Service

As of October 1, 2007 the process for using these services is:

1. Create your project file according to the guide for the services. There have been changes in equipment so check the guide even if you've used the service before.
   • Laser Service PDF Guide
   • Laser Service Template (After unzip, open using Illustrator CS2 or CS3.)
   • Wide-Format Archival Print Service PDF Guide
   • Rapid Prototyping Service PDF Guide
   • Rapid Prototyping Service—Maya VRML Output PDF Guide
2. Make an appointment during office hours for the service with AMS to get a cost estimate.
   Send an e-mail to ams@nyu.edu stating which service you need an appointment for.

3. Bring the price estimate to John Duane for review. Additional review and approval will be requested from your class instructor, if the cost is
   • over $100 for the laser and rapid prototype sevice.
   • over $189 for the wide-format print services

4. Once approved John will prepare the check for the service.
5. You should e-mail ams@nyu.edu again for an appointment to drop off the check, your final files and materials. Label everything with your name and phone or e-mail.
6. If your project is not part of a class project or cannot be covered by ITP's AMS account, you can still get work done at the AMS services through the internal charge system. AMS Service are now available to individuals within or affiliated with the NYU community and represent a great savings from commercial costs.
